To mark the 10th anniversary of the canonisation of Australia’s first saint, St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Chiara Porro, Australian Ambassador to the Holy See, presents a video commemorating the event.
“Mary MacKillop was an extraordinary woman who did a lot for those on the margins of society,” says Ambassador Porro in the video.
The video highlights the places where Mary MacKillop visited during her time in Rome when she was presenting her case to gain recognition of her order from Pope Pius IX, and includes testimonies of men and women inspired by her and who remember the festivities around the canonisation.
