Date set for Ordination and Installation of 10th Bishop of Sale

The Diocesan Administrator, Fr Peter Slater is happy to announce the Episcopal Ordination and installation of Bishop-elect Gregory Bennet as Tenth Bishop of Sale will be held on Tuesday 20 October in St Mary’s Cathedral, Sale, commencing at 11am.

Fr Slater said that mindful of the seriousness of the current COVID pandemic, all arrangements will be planned with due respect of restrictions concerning public safety.

Bishop-elect Greg Bennet has served as a priest in a variety of senior roles in the Archdiocese of Melbourne, including in the role of Vicar General.

He was appointed by Pope Francis to Sale on 27 June 2020 following the Ninth Bishop of Sale, Bishop Patrick O’Regan’s appointment to the position of the Archdiocese of Adelaide.
