Our Lady of Mercy College, Paramatta is seeking a new Principal following the resignation of Mr Stephen Walsh.

Mr Walsh was appointed in 2014 as the ninth Principal of OLMC and the first male leader of the College

“Mr Walsh has advised the Board that the timing is right for the OLMC leadership to transition into the next era. Stephen helped bed down the past ten-year Masterplan and the Strategic Improvement Plan to strengthen our Catholic identity, transform our learning framework, increase professional development opportunities for staff, and develop the best possible resources and facilities. Our College is in a strong position to manage a smooth transition to new leadership and provide quality Catholic education for girls in the Mercy tradition, co-curricular experiences and pastoral care to our current and future OLMC students.” said Kerrie Walshaw, Chair of the College Board.

“I thank Stephen for his considerable leadership over the last six years, and as a College we pray for him as he moves to his next professional role.”

The Board will commence a formal search process with the view of appointing a replacement Principal by the start of the 2021 school year.

In the meantime, Ms Marie Wood will be Acting Principal.

With thanks to Our Lady of Mercy College, Parramatta.
